Amazonia - 1: India to Launch this satellite of Brazil

(A) About Amazonia - 1

This satellite is schedule to launch in August/September 2020. And according to a report this  is the first Earth Observation Satellite wholly developed by Brazil. This  is also known as SSR - 1 satellite. The SSR - 1 of the project suffered several delays start, either by lack of resources or by the barriers in the disputes of the bids. The main and the effective was set up in 2001 when a contract was signed for the development of multi-mission platform. In the  last review of the PANE, published in  January 2013, the Amazonia - 1 resurfaced with this name.  The satellite was originally supposed to launch on a Brazilian VLS - 1 Rocket, but the program was cancelled. (C)Brazil-India Space Cooperation

An agreement was signed on 25th January 2004 in the field of outer space between India and Brazil. In the wake of this agreement, India will be launching a micro-satellite of the Brazilian Space Agency(AEB). Space cooperation between the two countries goes back to the early 2000s when the two had agreement in place at the government to Government level.

(D) Why ISRO's PSLV for launching satellites?

Several countries have been coming to ISRO for launching their satellite purely because of commercial consideration. A lot of South American countries have been reaching out to ISRO through the Indian Missions looking for a commercially feasible launch. Post-MARS mission 2014, India's sophisticated and cost-effective programmes attracted big and small countries from across the globe. Countries like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, etc. are among some of the countries who have a Space Cooperation with ISRO at a different level.
